I also added back the water in which the plums were boiling to add volume. If you want, you can add half a teaspoon of cornstarch to thicken it.
The sauce goes very well with sauteed tofu, vegetables, diced and sauteed/browned chicken breast pieces or simply something to put on noodles/fried rice.
Ingredients:
| 2-3 | plum chopped roughly | |
| 2 | clove | garlic chopped finely |
| 2 | jalapeno pepper (red) chopped finely | |
| 2 | teaspoon | soy sauce |
| 1 | tablespoon | sesame oil |
| 1 | teaspoon | sugar |
Directions:
1. Boil the chopped plums in half a cup of water till soft and pulpy.
2. Drain water, blend together plum pieces, jalapenos and garlic to a lumpy paste.
3. In a small wok or saucepan, heat sesame oil.
4. Add the plum mixture to the sesame oil and bring to a boil.
5. Add soy sauce and salt and sugar to taste.
6. Stir on low-medium heat to bring to a boil.
7. Turn off the heat, allow it to cool in order to preserve in a jar.
