sooo totally agree with you!! i also began asking for EVOO at restaurants which tend to serve the bottled dressings (unless i know they're making it). when we travelled to spain, we never saw anything other than OO and vinegar or lime for dressings. so that's the way i go now. with good OO you dont need anything else.

Hey Adit, dried Hisbiscus Flowers also called 'Karkadi' is actually a common Egyptian ingredient, sold loosely in big jute sacks in old Souks in Cairo and used for preparing a flower based drink in that region. 'Karkadi' soaked in water overnite is also great to reduce blood pressure as per ancient egyptian medicine.

Its a great idea to cook the vegetables over the weekend. That way, you can make the egg, milk and cheese mix on the weekday you want to cook it and just toss the gratin into the oven.

This was very yummy. While is was making it I wasn't sure how good it was going to be but both Jen and I really enjoyed it. We made a broccoli cheese bake to accompany. I used the packaged lentils from TJs to save a little time. Thank Ujjaini!

If you do not have sherry vinegar, you can use half each of white vinegar and sherry. I imagine red wine vinegar combined with white vinegar might work as well but I haven't tried it.

We make a recipe very similar to this actually. I think the only real difference is that instead of curry powder, I freshly grind coriander, cumin, mustard, and fenugreek seeds and use that powder. It gives it this hint of bitterness which goes great with the cilantro and yogurt.
